The chorus had last night off, but was asked to attend the dance rehearsal tonight.
So in addition to singing, we have to dance.
Joann, the choreographer, did mention something about her special 6-week weight loss program at the general meeting.
This could be a good way to drop some pounds.
Harold Hill worked on his number with the kids and townspeople. I was sitting next to my mentors, Rene and Jane, and we were having fun acting as townspeople questioning Harold's motives.
Then, the choreographer asked for more volunteers to dance and Rene dragged me to the dance floor saying, "Come on, Beth."
Not quite sure what would be expected, I went along with my mentor. Surely, she'd hold my hand and help me learn whatever dance moves were coming our way.
Just a few moments later, the director stepped in and said, "Rene if you're going to be a nun, then you don't want to be marching."
"What? Wait. I want to be a nun," I said. "Anyone who knows me, knows I want to play a nun, for crying out loud," I thought.
My mentor was wisked away leaving me all alone to face the music...or should I say marching.
Marching, marching, marching.
Step together, step together, step together, step together.
I think the voice of Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors" was behind me.
Step together, step together, side step, step together.
It's going to be very impressive.
