"Greasepaint," said GFCT's Make-Up Guru Linda Friedman when she explained what kind of makeup the cast of "The Music Man" would need.
Immediately, I thought of the title of show,"The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd."
Remember that one?
GFCT produced it in 1993.
For the newbies, have you ever heard of that show?
I'll have to ask Kathi, our club historian, to dig out some archival photos from that show. I remember taking some really cool shots of the actors rehearsing. And I remember a woman came out of nowhere (which happens a lot with GFCT) to perform a part she had played on Broadway.
But I digress. Back to "The Music Man."
As we get closer to our performance dates of October 24-26, which are now just three weeks away, Linda gave us a little Make Up 101.
Apparently, because the Glens Falls High School auditorium is so large holding 1,500 people as compared to the Wood Theater that holds 300 people we can't wear our every day make up because we'd look washed out, we need to wear theatrical make up with a grease base.
