The excitement is building until our official opening night of “The Music Man” in five more days.
FIVE MORE DAYS!!!
On Monday, we moved our rehearsals from the Charles R. Wood Theater's rehearsal space to the Glens Falls High School stage.
The GFCT hasn’t performed a show (other than anniversary shows) on this stage in 10 years since the Wood Theater was built. The last show GFCT performed on the GFHS stage was "Into the Woods."
As you can see from the photos above, we discovered how the blocking transferred to the big stage and figured out how to get on and off stage. That may sound easy, but now we’re dealing with huge set pieces and the 65 cast members running on and off stage.
Last week, we rehearsed every night from 6 to 10 p.m.
Then, on Sunday, we had a marathon dress rehearsal from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. complete with the orchestra, set changes and curtain cues. We needed to be there by 11 a.m. for make up, hair and costumes. Cast photo was taken at 12:45, then we started Act 1 at 1 p.m. and went through the entire show.
There’s still no sign of Hugh Jackman. But, never fear, our guys are holding their own singing the opening scene on the train.
